“Tell me and I forgot, show me and I remember, let me do and I understand”
Kaumeya Language School is proud to be the first language school in Alexandria. Founded in 1959 by Mr. & Mrs. Laithy Abdel Nasser as the Kaumeya School Association, the school has now expanded into one of the greatest leading educational institutes.
The school was the first in Alexandria to introduce a British English program into the national curriculum in order to develop students learning and expose them to international cultures.
KLS, at the time, hired foreign teachers in all grade levels thus believing that diversity in a school environment will help students learn and develop their skills and knowledge. English speaking teachers were qualified and highly selected. KLS set very high standards and expectations for students learning.
In the year 1998/1999, the international school (American & British) was introduced.
Parents demand for international education was great and the school continued success, conveyed in students’ achievements, made the school even more and more popular in the Alexandrian community.
Starting out with only 6 students, the school progressed and expanded into the Kaumeya Language School (KLS) that now has hundreds of students enrolled, and a diverse learning program offering students 3 different certificates.
